Polyester Staple Fiber
Polyester staple fiber is one of the most popular fiber developed in the last century. It is formed by chemical reaction of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) and Mono-Ethylene Glycol (MEG) through the processes of polymerization/spinning and extruding it through spinnerettes and later drawing and cutting to the specified length.It is mainly used in Spun yarn, non-woven fabrics and other industrial applications. w.w textile products can also incorporate natural fibers from renewable resources. w.w textile continually strives to develop new methods of recycling materials and reducing waste.

Features and Benefits
- Specific Gravity: 0.93
Light weight. Lighter than all natural and synthetic fibers. Can use finer denier yarns for the same cover factor in fabric. Fabric floats since it is lighter than water.
- Moisture Regain: Less than 0.1.2%
Quick Dry. Fiber is hydrophobic and will not absorb water into the fiber. Water “wicks” away from the skin and through the fabric to the face for quick evaporation. Stain resistance. Since most stains are water-born, stains will not set into the fabric because no moisture is absorbed. Most stains wipe off easily.
- Soap and water clean up. Chlorine bleach will not affect color or fabric.
Easy-Care.
- Resistance to Bacteria
Does not support the growth of mildew, mold or bacteria. If microorganisms from contaminants are deposited on yarn or fabric, properties are unaffected.
- Solution-dyed.
Solution dyeing is the most “fast” of any coloring method on fibers and yarns. Solution dyeing produces yarns that are colorfast, washfast, and lightfast. Ultraviolet inhibitors can be added to improve the lightfastness for use outdoors.
- Resistant to Chemicals.
Outstanding resistance to a wide range of chemicals. Unaffected by most acids, alkalis and salts. Chlorine bleach can be used as a cleaning agent without fading the color nor degrading the fabric.
- Possess the lowest thermal conductivity of any natural or synthetic fiber.
More heat is retained for a longer length of time. Used in apparel, excellent insulative properties. Combined with its hydrophobic nature yields apparel that keeps you dry and warm.
- Excellent abrasion resistance.
Fabrics are extremely durable to normal wear and tear.
